- Yiğitlik, baskı altında nezakettir. Ernest Hemingway1. Dünya Savaşı'nda Kızıl Haç ambulansı şoförlüğü görevinden The Toronto Star gazetesindeki yaklaşık yirmi beş yıl süren savaş muhabirliğine, Ernest Hemingway, yirminci yüzyılı biçimlendiren pek çok çatışmaya tanıklık etmiş, bunları eşsiz bir güçle kayıt altına almıştır. Bu dikkat çekici kitap, Hemingway'in savaşın doğası hakkındaki önemli ve zamansız yazılarını bir araya getiriyor.Çok sevilen romanı Silahlara Veda'dan, İspanya İç Savaşı hakkındaki Çanlar Kimin İçin Çalıyor'dan pasajlar, savaşın ve sonrasının psikolojik ve fiziksel etkilerinin benzersiz bir portresini sunuyor. Nehrin Ötesine Ağaçların İçine'den seçilen bölümler, hayatının alacakaranlığında, duygusal yaralar almış bir muvazzaf askerin savaşın doğası üzerine düşüncelerini canlı bir biçimde anlatıyor. Başka Bir Ülkede, Kelebek ve Tank gibi klasik kısa öyküleri, Hemingway'in ilk kısa öykü kitabı In Our Time ve tek tiyatro oyunu Beşinci Kol'dan seçilen parçaların yanında yer alıyor.Torunu Sean Hemingway'in titiz bir çalışmayla derlediği bu özel eser, Hemingway'in savaşla ilgili roman ve öykülerinden etkileyici pasajlarla birlikte Mussolini ile yaptığı tarihi röportajı, 1922 Türkiye'sinden gözlemlerini, Normandiya çıkarmasından Paris'in kurtuluşuna kadar pek çok savaş ortamının sarsıcı görgü tanıklıklarını, modern savaşın ortasındaki azim ve yenilgi, cesaret ve korku, aşk ve kayıp üzerine etkileyici kayıtlarını Hemingway'in gazeteciliğinden büyüleyici seçkileriyle sunuyor. Torunu Sean Hemingway'in, Ernest Hemingway'in yaşamı, savaşlardaki yeri ve kitaptaki yazılarıyla ilgili detaylı bilgiler veren sunuş yazısının, Ernest Hemingway'in askerlik ve muhabirlik dönemlerinden özel fotoğrafların ve oğlu Patrick Hemingway'in önsözünün de yer aldığı Savaş Üzerine, 20. yüzyıl savaşlarını Hemingway'in gözünden görmek için eşsiz bir kaynak. “Excellent experience with Ubuy Hong Kong. I ordered the Google Fitbit Air (Screenless Tracker) and it arrived quicker than expected. The packaging was secure, and the device is 100% authentic and brand new. It’s a fantastic little device for tracking health metrics without the distraction of a screen. The battery life is great, and it’s very comfortable to wear 24/7. Ubuy made the international ordering process easy. 5 stars for reliability and speed!”
