The book presents an empowering, exploratory approach to creating comics, drawing heavily on Barry's extensive teaching experience and unique artistic style. Many reviewers highlight the simplicity and accessibility of her drawing methods, which encourage creativity without the fear of failure, appealing to both novice artists and seasoned professionals alike. Readers appreciate the book's engaging blend of humor, thought-provoking philosophy, and visually stunning exercises that stimulate the imagination. Multiple users have remarked on the effective teaching techniques Barry employs, praising the book not as a straightforward instruction manual, but as a catalyst for exploration and personal expression. The exercises are particularly well-received, described as fun and suitable for all skill levels. There is also a sense of community expressed within the reviews, as many readers feel inspired to share their newfound skills with friends and family, creating a shared experience of laughter and creativity.
