Some customers have used it on a 125-gallon saltwater tank and have found it to be very quiet. Others have found that the pump stops working within 1-2 years of purchase, while some have experienced breakdowns within months. The slave and master feature is great, and the magnet is approximately 1/4" thick. The PP-15 or PP-20 models are recommended for tanks with 80 gallons of water, depending on the ornamentation. The pump can be used in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums and there's not much difference between the pp series pump and the sw. Cleaning is required every now and then.
