This book has a mixed reception. Some customers praised the quality of this iconic textbook on FEM and commended its relevance to both academia and industry. They were also pleased with the fast shipping. Conversely, some reviewers criticised this so-called second edition. They called it a commercial gimmick as it barely contained any changes compared to the first edition. One customer did a side-by-side comparison of the tables of contents and found almost no new content. They concluded that customers could be disappointed if they expected a second edition to contain new relevant developments that happened during the last 20 years since the first edition was published.
