The Lignomat Scanner SD meter is a reliable and accurate tool for measuring moisture levels in different types of wood as well as materials. The meter is user-friendly and easy to operate. The margin of error is dependent on moisture saturation but has generally been found to be reliable. The laminated table also has lumber from Chile, New Zealand, Brazil, and a separate code for bamboo. The product has two depth settings, 1/4" and 3/4". The meter is pinless, making it ideal for rough-sawn material, and has settings that allow for different wood species. However, switching from one wood species to another requires entering a code number from a card that they supplied, which is the only small inconvenience. The plastic body of the machine is of relatively fragile quality but this does not impact overall functionality.
