How does the TERRO T230 flea trap work?

The TERRO T230 operates using a combination of light and warmth to entice fleas. Once attracted, fleas land on the adhesive pad, making it impossible for them to escape. This method eliminates the need for sprays or powders, rendering it an excellent choice for those seeking a non-toxic alternative in managing flea populations indoors.

Is the TERRO T230 safe to use around pets and children?

Yes, the TERRO T230 is safe for use around pets and children as it employs a non-toxic design that does not involve harmful chemicals or pesticides. This safety aspect makes it ideal for households where fleas are an issue without compromising the well-being of family members or furry companions.

How often should I refill the TERRO T230 flea trap?

You should monitor and refill the sticky pad of the TERRO T230 flea trap every month or sooner if it appears full of fleas and debris. Regular maintenance ensures efficiency, allowing you to continue attracting and trapping any new fleas that may invade your space over time.

Where can I position the TERRO T230 for optimal results?

To maximize its effectiveness, position the TERRO T230 in areas frequented by pets, such as hotspots where pets sleep or play. Additionally, placing traps in darker corners away from direct light can enhance attracting fleas since they naturally seek refuge in darker spaces.

Does the TERRO T230 trap work on other insects besides fleas?

While primarily designed for fleas, the TERRO T230 can also catch various flying insects, including moths and flies, due to its light attraction feature. This makes it a versatile tool in maintaining a pest-free indoor environment, particularly during warm months when insects are active.

How long does the electric part of the TERRO T230 last?

The electric component of the TERRO T230 is designed for prolonged use, as it efficiently consumes power without overheating. Users can expect it to function optimally over extended periods, providing effective flea control as long as the unit remains clean and well-maintained.

Can I use the TERRO T230 outdoors?

The TERRO T230 is designed specifically for indoor use and is not recommended for outdoor activities due to its reliance on electrical components. Utilizing it outdoors could expose the device to adverse weather conditions, ultimately leading to damage and ineffective pest control.

What is included with the TERRO T230 flea trap?

The TERRO T230 package typically includes the electric flea trap unit, one sticky adhesive pad, and instructions for setup and use. This ensures you have everything you need to get started on effectively trapping fleas in your home right away.

Terro Traps T230 Editorial Review

The TERRO T230 Indoor Electric Flea Light Refillable Flea Trap and Killer is an effective tool against fleas in homes with pets. The trap uses a 7 Watt, 120 Volt bulb that attracts fleas to the sticky pad, which does not contain any insecticide. The trap comes with two sticky pads and replacements can be purchased separately. However, some users feel that the trap is not effective against fleas, and it instead catches other types of insects such as gnats.
