The Gearlux Tripod Base Microphone Stand is a decent option for those looking for an affordable mic stand that is easy to set up and break down for transport. It is lightweight enough to carry around but heavy enough not to tip over. The rubber padding on the bottom of the stand prevents it from slipping on smooth surfaces. However, some customers have raised concerns about structural failure at the bass of the clutch and the slack between the outer and inner tubing that makes up the mast, which can introduce noise into the microphone. Some have also complained about the lack of a bushing on the top part of the telescoping tube, causing it to wiggle back and forth and create clunking noises in the microphone.
