Contemporary Editorial Review
The Bride Test by Helen Hoang is a heartwarming romantic-comedy that follows the story of Khai and Esme as they navigate their way around each other's expectations while trying to figure out their true selves. It is refreshing and goes against stereotypes, and the characters are well-developed and relatable. Hoang does an excellent job of showing disability representation with Khai's character. Customer Experience and Reception: - The development of Khai's character is enjoyable and endearing. - Esme is a sweet and relatable lead female character. - The character development of both Esme and Khai as a couple is fun to read and grow with them. - It is a good, light, easy read that is engaging and just the right amount of sexy. - The book is refreshing and against stereotypes. - The writing quality is excellent, and the characters have heart-breaking lives, but it is still a romance. - The slight miscommunication between the characters was a downside for some. - The first book in the series was preferred by some over this one.
