Powermaster Alternators Editorial Review

The Powermaster 47861 Alternator is a good fit for various GMC and Chevy models with positive reviews on its performance. It has an internal voltage regulator with a diameter of 2 inches. Some customers had to grind a little off the bracket to clear the pulley fan fit, but it is otherwise easy to install. The alternator can put out 140-145 amps on highway speed and 90 - 95 amps when at idle. One customer reported that the voltage regulator failed within a week of usage, and another reported that it lasted for only 22 months. However, one customer liked that it came with a proof of performance guide giving the idle cruise, top end, and output in amps.
